OPP arrest two after tip leads them to stolen vehicle

A Windsor man and a man from St.Thomas face charges after the Ontario Provincial Police found a stolen vehicle.

Police were tipped off about a suspicious vehicle on Mapleton Line near Belmont Road in the Municipality of Central Elgin early Tuesday morning.

Officers found the vehicle and found out it was stolen in London.

The OPP Canine Unit, the West Region OPP Emergency Response Team, and Elgin County OPP arrested two suspects.

A 39-year-old man from St. Thomas faces five charges, including possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and theft under $5,000. Police also charged him with trespassing at night and two counts of failure to comply with a release order.

The 30-year-old Windsor man faces two drug charges, a count of trespassing at night, and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
