St. Thomas man a no-show for sexual assault sentencing

St. Thomas police are asking for the public's help finding a 42-year-old man who took off ahead of his sentencing for sexual offences against a young person.

Paul Wilson (pictured above) was scheduled to appear at a sentencing hearing at the St. Thomas courthouse on January 17. He was to be sentenced for one count of sexual interference and sexual assault of a person under the age of 16. However, Wilson did not show up.

A Canada-wide warrant has since been issued for Wilson's arrest.

Police are asking anyone who knows of Wilson's whereabouts to call them at 519-631-1224 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
