Fog halts morning school buses in Middlesex, Oxford

Thick fog outside of the city has led to school bus cancellations in Middlesex and Oxford counties.

According to Southwestern Ontario Student Transportation Services all school purpose vehicles in the two counties will not be operating Thursday morning. However, they will be back on the roads for the afternoon drive home, unless otherwise posted. For a list of cancelled routes click here.

Buses in London, Elgin County, and the Red Zone will be running on schedule. All schools within the London District Catholic and Thames Valley District school boards remain open.

This is the third straight morning adverse weather conditions have led to school bus cancellations in the region.

A fog advisory is in effect for much of southwestern Ontario. Environment Canada advises dense fog may significantly and suddenly reduce visibility on the roads to near zero at times Thursday morning. Drivers are advised to ensure their vehicle's lighting system is switched on, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead, and be prepared to stop.
