Three charged after gun, cocaine seized

London police say three people face charges after officers seized a loaded gun, ammunition, and cocaine.

According to police, officers noticed a suspicious vehicle in the area of Horton Street and Maitland Street around 1:50 p.m. on Thursday, January 25. It was determined that the vehicle had been stolen in October.

Police stopped the vehicle, and while an officer was speaking with the driver, noticed a firearm in the vehicle. The man who was driving and two female passengers were arrested.

Officers searched the vehicle and found a loaded pistol, six hollow point rounds in a magazine, and 38 grams of cocaine. Officers also seized three cell phones and the vehicle, a 2017 Porsche Cayenne.

A 28-year-old man, a 26-year-old woman, and a 20-year-old woman are charged with possession of a regulated firearm, occupying a vehicle with a firearm, possession of a firearm without a licence, and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

The 28-year-old man is also charged with possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
