Temporary lane restrictions to slow Wharncliffe, Base Line roads

A section of both Wharncliffe Road South and Base Line Road West will see slow downs for the next week.

Starting Thursday, Wharncliffe Road South between Base Line Road East and Commissioners Road East, and Base Line Road West between McGregor Avenue and Base Line Road East will have temporary lane restrictions. The reduced lanes are to accommodate private utility work in both areas.

Drivers aren't the only ones who will be affected either. According to the city, sidewalks will have restrictions and closures during the work, so pedestrians are encouraged to use nearby streets to reach their destinations.

Access to businesses and homes in the area will be maintained throughout this work.

It is anticipated both roads will be totally reopened by end of day Wednesday.
