$5K gold bar stolen from St. Thomas seller

The sale of a gold bar valued at $5,000 did not go as planned for a St. Thomas resident.

The owner had made arrangements to sell the gold bar to another person earlier this week. The pair met at an agreed location to make the exchange, but once there, the prospective buyer instead stole the valuable item.

St. Thomas police were notified about the theft on Tuesday. They did not disclose the location of the theft.

No injuries were reported.

Police are asking anyone with information about this incident to call them at 519-631-1224 or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
