UPDATE: London police officer injured in downtown collision

A collision involving a pick-up truck and a London police van sent an officer to hospital on Thursday afternoon.

The collision happened at the intersection of Richmond Street and Oxford Street around 2:30 p.m.

An officer was taken to hospital by ambulance, however it's not known how serious the officer's injuries are.

Police have since reopened Richmond and Oxford in all directions.

The investigation is ongoing.
