High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

A pedestrian was seriously hurt when a pickup truck crashed into the front of a post office in Woodstock.Emergency crews were called to the Canada Post outlet located in a strip mall at 433 Norwich Ave. near Montclair Drive around 1:40 p.m. on Monday. A dark blue pickup truck had jumped the curb and slammed through the glass front entrance of the building.A pedestrian suffered serious, non-life threatening injuries in the collision and had to be taken to hospital for treatment.The investigation is ongoing, police said in a statement released on Tuesday.Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police at 519-537-2323 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
