Suspicious Woodstock package ultimately deemed harmless

Woodstock police say a package that shut down a plaza this afternoon was deemed not-suspicious.

Around 1:20 p.m., WPS responded to the area of Vansittart Avenue and Lakeview Drive for reports of a suspicious package.

The area was contained and secured for several hours, as Waterloo Regional Police Service assisted in the investigation.

Ultimately, the package was found to be harmless.

All businesses and roads in the area have been reopened.
