Charges laid after imitation gun pointed at vehicles, homes

A London man is accused of pointing what turned out to be a fake gun at vehicles and houses in the east-end.

Several calls were made to 911 about a man walking in the area of Trafalgar Road and Hale Street pointing a firearm at vehicles and houses around 3:40 p.m. on Thursday.

London police officers flooded the area and located a man that fit the provided description holding an alleged gun near Hale and Tweedsmuir Avenue. After a brief struggle with officers, the man was arrested and an imitation firearm was seized.

No injuries were reported, police said.

A 33-year-old London man is charged with pointing a firearm, possession of an imitation weapon, and resisting arrest. He is scheduled to appear in court in relation to the charges on May 8.
