Pair charged in Norfolk County drug bust

A man and woman are facing drug trafficking charges after cocaine and prescription drugs were seized from a vehicle in Norfolk County.

OPP stopped the vehicle on Colborne Street South in Simcoe as part of an ongoing investigation on Monday night.

"During the interaction, officers had sufficient grounds to arrest the driver for drug-related offences," police said. "As a result, both the driver and the sole passenger were taken into custody without incident."

A search of the vehicle turned up an undisclosed amount of suspected cocaine, crack cocaine, and percocets. drug paraphernalia and cash were also seized.

A 42-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman, both from Norfolk County, are charged with possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking. The man is additionally charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
