London man arrested following east-end break-and-enter

London police say a 40-year-old man is in custody following a weekend break-in.

It happened around 5 p.m. Saturday in the area of Hamilton Road and Rectory Street. A homeowner came home to find a broken window and someone in the house.

The resident called 911, but the suspect fled before officers arrived.

A description was given, and the man was found a short distance away. A search of the man recovered items taken from the home.

No one was hurt.

The London man is charged with break-and-enter to commit theft, resisting arrest, and uttering threats.

The man remained in custody pending an appearance in a London court. The charges have not been proven.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
