One person was taken to hospital after a vehicle crashed and then burst into flames on Highway 401 west of London.
Emergency crews were called to the eastbound lanes of the highway between Currie and Iona roads, northeast of Dutton, where the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames just after 10 p.m. on Monday.
The vehicle had veered off the road and into the centre median before igniting, Elgin OPP said.
Firefighters with the Dutton-Dunwich Fire Department quickly extinguished the blaze and paramedics took the driver and lone occupant to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Fire officials offered their thanks to passing motorists who stopped to help the driver involved in the crash.
Traffic on the highway was temporarily slowed by the collision and clean-up.
Police are asking anyone with information about the crash to call then at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-84777 (TIPS).
