Man assaulted, two women charged

London police say two women are charged after a man who stepped outside of his home for a cigarette was assaulted.

According to police, it was around 2 a.m. on Sunday, April 28 when the man was assaulted outside his home in the area of Baseline Road West and Cotswold Gate. Police say the man knew the two women who assaulted him.

"The man was able to leave the area and call 9-1-1 to report being assaulted," police said.

He was taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Two suspects were arrested a short distance away. Police allege that, as she was being arrested, one of the woman kicked two officers and spat on a third.

A 29-year-old woman is charged with assault and assault with a weapon.

A 28-year-old woman is charged with assault and three counts of assaulting a police officer.

Both women are scheduled to appear in court in June.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
