LPS officer facing more charges for criminal harassment

London Police Service arrested an off-duty officer Tuesday for criminal harassment.

Local police say they charged Constable Juan Romero-Hernandez after repeated communication with a victim over email and phone.

Romero-Hernandez is currently suspended with pay, facing assault charges.

The off-duty officer was found to be in violation of court-imposed conditions, the second such time he has been charged for breaching a court order following his initial December 12 arrest.

Romero-Hernandez was arrested shortly after 1 p.m. on Tuesday, in north end of the city.

He was remanded in custody and is expected to reappear in London court Wednesday in relation to the charges.

LPS says it is unable to provide additional information, as "this matter is before the court."
