$35K east London shed fire deemed suspicious

Fire officials and police are probing an overnight blaze that caused $35,000 damage to a property in east London.

Firefighters were called to the home at 1 Rathgar Street, just east of the intersection of Adelaide Street and Hamilton Road, around 2 a.m. on Tuesday. Crews arrived to find a detached shed fully engulfed in flames. They quickly worked to extinguish the fire and douse hot spots.

The shed was destroyed and the siding of a nearby home melted.

No injuries were reported, fire officials said.

Fire prevention investigators will be on scene throughout the day working to determine the origin, cause, and circumstances of the fire.

The fire has been deemed suspicious.

London police are asking anyone with information about the blaze to call them at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

Fentanyl seized at London Rd. apartment

During a search, police seized 22.19 grams of fentanyl, 13.27 grams of methamphetamine, a grinder with fentanyl residue, two digital scales with fentanyl residue, a frying pan with green fentanyl, and a glass containing food colouring.
