Maintenance, litter collection to close section of Highbury Avenue

A main artery in south London will be closed for eight and a half hours on Wednesday.

Drivers will not be able to travel on Highbury Avenue between Hamilton Road and Highway 401 from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., the city has announced. The temporary closure is to allow for infrastructure maintenance and litter collection along the road.

While the roadway will be closed, vehicles getting off the 401 onto Highbury will still be able to go to the Bradley Avenue exit ramp, but at a reduced speed.

"Motorists must exit Highbury Avenue at Bradley Avenue," the city said in a statement.

Southbound drivers will be detoured at Hamilton Road to use alternative routes to reach their destination.

People travelling through the area throughout the closure should expect delays, the city said.
