Two sent to hospital after downtown motorcycle crash

A downtown crash involving a motorcycle sent two people to hospital, one with serious injuries.

Emergency crews were called to the collision at Oxford Street East and Richmond Street around 3 p.m. on Wednesday. A motorcycle involved was seen in the middle of the intersection with a wheel broken off.

London police initially said one person was sent to hospital with serious injuries, before confirming a second person was taken to hospital with "unknown" injuries.

The crash kept the intersection closed for several hours, causing major traffic delays during the afternoon commute. Traffic was slowed in all directions as drivers tried to navigate around the closure. The road was reopened in the evening.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, police said.
