A pair of California-formed 90s rock bands are coming to the Western Fair.
Sugar Ray and Smash Mouth will be performing as part of the fair's outdoor concert series on September 7, fair officials announced on Wednesday.
Dubbed "The Ranch" due to its proximity to the fair's agriculture and livestock display barn, the outdoor series includes three nights of live performances. English rockers Squeeze and the English Beat will be headlining the day after Sugar Ray and Smash Mouth. The headliner for September 6 has not yet been revealed.
Over their three-decade long career, Sugar Ray has sold more than 10 million records, had four top 10 songs, and online streams in the hundreds of millions. The band's hits include "Fly" and "Every Morning".
Smash Mouth, best known for their chart toppers "Walkin' On The Sun" and "All-Star", as well their contribution to the Shrek soundtrack, have been on the music scene since the late 90s. They are known for their inherent and determined ability to connect with any audience worldwide
Tickets for the outdoor concert series will go on sale online at www.westernfair.ca on June 21 at 10 a.m. Prices for the September 7 show range from $85 to $95, plus HST and fees and include admission to the fair.
