Knights trample Petes 7-3

The London Knights have now won their last seven games following a 7-3 victory over the Peterborough Petes on Friday.

The Knights surged in the first period to take a 4-0 lead after Nathan Dunkley and Josh Nelson both scored once, and Alex Formenton scored two of his own.

Matvey Guskov added another goal for London early in the second before the Petes made it on the board with two back-to-back goals, making it 5-2 heading into the third.

Cole Tymkin scored for London on the first 54 seconds of the final frame, and Peterborough scored their third of the night with just over seven minutes left in the game.  The Knights capped off their win with a goal from Liam Foudy at the 14:27 mark.

London goalie Joseph Raaymakers made 25 saves out of 28 shots on net.

The Knights will travel to Guelph next to take on the Storm on Saturday. The puck drops at 3:30 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
