Jr. hockey wrap-up – January 3, 2019

The Leamington Flyers doubled the St. Thomas Stars 6-3 on Thursday.

Brett Postula, Preston Corp, Michael Andrews, Dylan Weston, Adam Jeffery and Wyatt O'Neil all scored once for Leamington.

The Flyers are at home again on January 10 to take on the Chatham Maroons at 7:10 p.m.

As well, the London Nationals tied the Sarnia Legionnaires 6-6 after double overtime.

James Turner led London with two goals, while Cal Davis, Max Vinogradov, George Diaco and Riley MacRae each scored one.

The Nationals will battle the Rockets in Strathroy on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
