Jr. hockey wrap-up – March 5, 2019

The St. Thomas Stars have staved off elimination after beating the London Nationals 5-2 in Game 4 on Tuesday.

Max Vinogradov and James Turner scored the two goals for London.

London leads the best of seven series 3-1.

The Nationals will try again to close out the series in Game 5 on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in London.

The Leamington Flyers topped the Strathroy Rockets 6-2 in Game 4.

Dylan Weston led Leamington with two goals, while Matthew Boring, Colton O'Brien, Michael Andrews and Wyatt O'Neil all scored once.

The Flyers now lead the Rockets 3-1 in the best of seven series.

The two teams face off in Game 5 on Thursday. The puck drops at 7:10 p.m. in Leamington.

In Junior C playoff action, the Lakeshore Canadiens shutout the Essex 73's 1-0 in Game 1.

Eric Larue scored the sole goal of the game for Lakeshore.

The puck drops for Game 2 at 7 p.m. on Friday in Lakeshore.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
