Candidates Say Doug Ford Would Be Welcomed In PC Leadership Race

Doug Ford may have the blessing of the Ontario PC party if he were to run for its leadership.

Current candidates to replace Tim Hudak were in Wingham giving their thoughts on where the party needs to be to win the next election.

The rumours of Ford's interest in provincial politics comes after a recent loss in the Toronto mayoral race. Those rumours brought a split decision from the four candidates on hand.

Vic Fedeli along with Lisa MacLeod say they were not speaking about any candidates, or potential candidates at this time. Monte McNaughton and Patrick Brown say they would welcome Ford's name in the race as anything that could potentially help the party should be welcome.

Christine Elliot was unable to attend the meeting as she was in Ireland representing her late husband, Jim Flaherty.
