Howick Township council has voted in-favour of a pay increase for their volunteer firefighters.

Council approved the motion that will see firefighters get a 2.6 per cent increase in 2015.

The move will match the firefighters with all other township employees, who will see their pay raised to match the latest Ontario consumer price index.
