Wellington County Up For More Awards

Wellington County is again being recognized as a good place to work.

Last week, Wellington County was recognized as one of the safest employers to work for in Canada, receiving a gold award for both psychological safety and public sector safety.

Now, the county is a finalist in two categories in the 2014 Canadian HR Awards presented by HRD magazine and HRMonline.ca, Canada’s leading industry resource for HR professionals.

The county is nominated for the KPMG Award for "Best Health and Wellness Strategy" and "The Beyond Boardrooms Award" for the best HR communication strategy.

The 2014 Canadian HR Awards will be held November 7 at the Liberty Grand Entertainment Complex in Toronto.

Wellington County is made up of seven lower tier municipalities and employs about 750 people.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
