Southgate Citizens Fundraising For Lost Lystek Legal Challenge

Southgate wants to know how a citizen’s group is doing at raising money to pay of several court awards.

Court orders amounted to about $56,000 against a citizens group known as SPIRG (Southgate Public Interest Research Group).

The group unsuccessfully challenged a Southgate building permit for a controversial recycling plant in Dundalk.

The group has paid $15,000 and their lawyer says in August the group is working at raising the rest.

Southgate Councilor Dennis Evan asked for an update from the SPIRG lawyer on how the fundraising is going for the remaining $41,000.
