Southgate's Deputy Mayor Calls Online Posts Slanderous

Southgate Deputy Mayor Norm Jack says he is hurt and disappointed by comments surfacing on the internet following the recent municipal election.

Jack says some of the comments are "borderline slanderous," citing one comment posted on Facebook which calls him "nasty" and "underhanded."

Jack says he and Councillor Dale Pallister are both being targeted by the comments. They are the only two members of the old council to be returning on the new council.

He is particularly upset that Mayor-Elect Anna-Marie Fosbrooke posted a "like" to one of the comments.

Jack says his real concern is that the next four years of Southgate council will be as divisive as the past four.

He urged the new council to be civil to one another or face four years of "wasted time."
