Alexandra Marine and General Hospital Gala A Success

Last weekend's Goderich Alexandra Marine and General Hospital gala was a huge success on every level.

Spokesperson Gwen Devereaux explains they set a financial goal of $50,000 for the event, but their primary objective was everyone who attended had a great evening.

Devereaux says they never really expected to raise $50,000. That primary objective was never in doubt, but through the auction conducted by Huron-Bruce MP Ben Lobb as well as various prizes, they did raise $50,000 and a little bit more.

The money raised will go towards the purchase of a Laparoscope tower. The cost almost $67,000 and the hospital needs two of them.

Devereaux says they're not sure when the next event will be held, but the planning committee is already working on it. The committee wants to thank the community and everyone who attended for their support.
