Stratford Group Rallies For Health Care

The Stratford and Area Health Coalition will join a rally at Queen's Park next week.

Co-Chair Roxie Baker says they've arranged for a bus to leave Stratford next Friday morning, with stops in Kitchener and Guelph.

Baker says she's very concerned the Huron Perth Health Care Alliance is redistributing beds from Stratford to other community hospitals.

"If you were moved to Clinton, and your family had no way to get there, that's really a detriment to the healing process for one thing and the stress on those that might have to pay for transportation that can't afford it," she says.

Huron Perth Health Care Alliance CEO Andrew Williams says the realignment of beds will ensure four viable specialized hospital sites.

Friday's lunch hour rally at Queen's park by the Ontario Health Coalition is expected to attract participants from across the province.
