Huron Bruce MPP Critical of Economic Statement

Huron Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson says the provincial economic statement is a concern for Huron-Bruce.

She, along with her fellow PC partly members call The Liberal government's claim to wipe out the 12.5-billion-dollar deficit in three years "a fairy tale".

Finance Minister Charles Sousa said revenues are off by more than half-a-billion dollars but remains confident the government can wipe out the deficit by cracking down on illegal cigarettes, the underground economy and corporate tax avoiders.

Meanwhile, Thompson says that a local problem wasn't addressed. Saying there was no mention of health funding in the statement.

Thompson says the government won't be able to make back the lost revenue due to the loss of jobs and job creators in Ontario.
