Minto Awarded As Walker Friendly

Minto has been recognized for its efforts to make the municipality walker friendly.

It was given the bronze award by Canada Walks and Walk Friendly Ontario for its efforts to get people out of their cars and onto their legs.

Minto was cited for initiatives such as its walking trail system and its walker friendly downtowns in Palmerston, Harriston and Clifford.

“It’s great to see a small municipality like ours be able to achieve an award like this," says Minto Recreation Manager Matt Lubbers. "We are being recognized as trying to be leaders with walkable communities.”
