Perth Wellington Federal Liberal Nomination Tonight

Two men from St. Marys will square off tonight in their effort to be the Liberal candidate for the federal Perth-Wellington riding.

One of the candidates is lawyer and town councillor Stephen McCotter, the other is business owner Colin Thomson.

The nomination meeting is at the Royal Canadian Legion hall on Patrick St. in Stratford. The meeting starts at 6:30pm with formal introductions and speeches from the two candidates.

Voting will follow, and the winner will be declared later this evening. Only members of the Liberal Party of Canada that live in Perth-Wellington are eligible to vote.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
