New OPSEU Contract At Canadian Mental Health Wellington

Members of OPSEU local 291 voted in favour of a final offer to avoid a service disruption at the Canadian Mental Health Association Waterloo, Wellington, Dufferin.The vote count was 118 for the contract, and 113 against. The turnout was 79 per cent.

Association Executive Director Fred Wagner says they are relieved to avoid any disruption in service to local residents. He recognizes the vote was very close, and says the leadership will dedicate itself to building bridges with all staff. He says all employees share a deep passion for the work they do.

The new agreement is in effect until March 2017. It includes 12 paid sick days and three paid personal emergency days.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
