New Use Proposed For Old Colborne Central School

The future looks brighter for the former Colborne Central Public School.

Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh council has approved a zoning amendment that will allow former Central Huron councillor Brian Barnim to convert the old school into seniors apartments.

Barnim is proposing to create ten apartments, and rent out the auditorium for community use. Each unit would be self-contained and have an interior exit as well as an outdoor exit onto a patio.

Barnim says the building has many unique features, including an indoor walking track. He plans to start renovations in January.
