South Bruce Mayor Says Farewell

Last night marked the final meeting for the current term of South Bruce council.

Two-term mayor Bill Goetz said his goodbyes after not seeking re-election.

Goetz mentioned he was proud of the 48 per cent voter turnout in South Bruce during the recent election, which was one of the highest in the region.

The new council and new Mayor Robert Buckle will be introduced on December 2.

"We were pretty particular on replacing staff," Gretz told CKNX moments after a soft-spoken fairwell to council. "If we didn't get what we wanted, well, we kept looking and I think it has really paid off."
