Goderich Hospitals Looking For Board Volunteers

The Alexandra Marine and General Hospital in Goderich is looking for volunteers to sit on its three board committees.

Board Chair Barb Major-McEwan says sitting on one of the committees is not a major time commitment. The committees meet for one or two hours a month, about ten months of the year and there would also be some reading required prior to the meeting.

"We have three sub committees of our board... quality, audit and fiance and governance," says Major-McEwan. "We'd like to have community individuals that have expertise, interest, or just want to give back to their community, to join one of our committees."

Major-McEwan explains it's important someone sitting on the audit and finance committee have some background in finance and similarly with the quality or governance committee, the applicant would have some experience relating to that committee.

She also points out a member of one of the board committees could also, at some point, apply to become a member of the board.
