Wellington North Holds Inaugural Council Meeting

Wellington North Mayor Andy Lennox told the inaugural meeting of council that the voters want action on the issues facing the municipality.

But he said there can be no major action without a clear plan of how it is going to be paid for.

Lennox is known for being a careful money manager and admitted in his inaugural address that some have dubbed him “Uncle Scrooge”.

All five members of Wellington North council promised to work hard as a team.

Lennox also praised the dedication of the man he beat in the last municipal election, former Mayor Ray Tout.

Lennox cited Tout for his community work including the Lion’s Club and the Mount Forest Fireworks Festival. Tout had just one term as mayor of Wellington North.
