West Grey mayor Kevin Eccles is warden of Grey County for the coming year.
Eccles was acclaimed to the position when no one ran against him at the county's inaugural meeting. Georgian Bluffs Mayor Al Barfoot was the only other nominee but he declined the nomination.
Owen Sound Deputy Mayor Arlene Wright nominated Eccles for warden. She says what the county needs is Eccles' leadership and experience.
Eccles was previously Grey County warden in 2008 and 2009. He says the biggest challenge for council is how to provide services at a reasonable cost to taxpayers.
"Money certainly is always the issue of how to meet the expectations of the citizens out there and how do you fund that," says Eccles.
