It was part of a training exercise involving a C-17 transport. The plane is 53 m long with a 52 m wingspan and has a maximum takeoff weight is 265,000 kg. The aircraft is roughly four times the size of a Hercules.
The training also took the C-17 south towards Sarnia.
People in southern Huron and Lambton counties are being told to limit their time outside.
