Aviva Funding Contest Features More Local Finalists

A new animal welfare centre in Stratford, and Camp Klahanie near Goderich are two of several local proposals in the running for funding from Aviva Insurance.

The contest offers up to $100,000 to winning projects.

The new animal shelter in Stratford will cost $2.4-million dollars to build, and organizers are hoping to raise $1-million of that through donations.

The current shelter on Douro St. is too small and does not have an onsite treatment facility.

Camp Klahanie is a former Girl Guild Camp and the goderich Lions Club bought the abandoned property with hopes of creating a new community camp.

They need funding to build a bunkhouse.
