Huron and Wellington Counties Hold Inaugural Meetings

The Warden's Chain of Office will be presented to two more local County politicians this week.

There are three candidates for the Huron County position. Huron East Mayor Bernie MacLellan, Morris-Turnberry Mayor Paul Gowing, and Howick Township Reeve Art Versteeg are running.

The Warden's election is Wednesday afternoon as part of Huron County council's inaugural meeting.

Wellington County council will hold it's inaugural meeting and select it's Warden on Friday.

Last week, Huron-Kinloss mayor Mitch Twolan was acclaimed Bruce County Warden for 2015. Perth South mayor Robert Wilhelm was acclaimed as Warden for Perth County. And West Grey mayor Kevin Eccles was acclaimed Warden for Grey County.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
