Wightman Issues Apology For Friday Outage

Wightman Telecom has issued an official statement on its Facebook page, apologizing for the service outage on Friday.

In the statement the company says that at approximately 5:00 am, on December 5th, a cable was cut on one of the main links carrying Wightman's landline, mobility, and internet traffic.

Wightman officials say maintenance was being performed on the cable by another company without its knowledge.

Wightman's services were affected for several hours with most being restored in the early afternoon, but Stratford customers remained without service until early evening.

The statement notes that no matter the root cause of Friday's outage, the company takes responsibility for the service it provides to its customers and apologize for the significant inconvenience that the outage caused.
