Owen Sound Little Theatre Funding

The new year will start off on a positive note for the Owen Sound Little Theatre.

Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound MP Larry Miller has announced a grant of $20,000 to support the Roxy Theatre 2015-16 Professional Presenting Series.

The series, offered by the Owen Sound Little Theatre, includes a variety of performances from established and emerging Canadian artists.

The grant is from the Canada Arts Presentation Fund. Larry Miller says it will ensure that arts, culture and heritage in Owen Sound remain an integral part of the community.

"We are thrilled to receive this vital funding from the Government of Canada", said Maria Canton, Theatre Manager at the Roxy Theatre/Owen Sound Little Theatre. "This money allows us to bring emerging and established professional Canadian artists to our rural community who would not otherwise perform in our area. In doing so, we are able to diversify and build our audience base, making our organization more stable and sustainable."
