OPSEU Ratifies Contract With Grey Bruce Health Unit

Pro Tech Members of the Ontario Public Service Employees Union Local 276 have ratified a new four-year contract with the Grey Bruce Health Unit.

The Board of Health says the 70 staff members include public health inspectors, dental hygienists, speech therapists, registered practical nurses, and dieticians.

Union members voted last night to accept the offer. The board ratified the deal November 28.

The contract offers a 1 per cent wage increase in the first year, and 1.25%, 1.5%, and 1.75% in subsequent years.

It also includes a signing bonus.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
