The community development coordinator with Women's House Serving Bruce and Grey says we're seeing a cultural shift in attitude about sexual abuse and harassment.
Tiffany Love say a number of events this year have helped create more awareness. She points to the women who are making public allegations against former CBC host Jian Ghomeshi and comedian Bill Cosby.
And there has been increased focus on the over 1,200 missing and murdered aboriginal women and girls in Canada.
She says people are become more aware about issues of consent, and why women don't always report abuse.
Love hopes the conversation continues and translates into action for 2015, as people work together to end violence against women.
