Bruce Telecom Board To Be Determined

The uncertain future of Bruce Telecom is affecting the board of directors.

Three board members whose term ended November 30 will be asked to stay on while council decides what the next step will be.

An agreement to sell the municipally-owned company earlier this year fell apart after the Competition Bureau nixed it because of competition problems.

Each member of the board receives $10,000 annually with the chair receiving $12,000.

In addition, voting board members receive $250 daily for each extra day of service.

One day is defined by the board as three and one half hours of service.
