Stolen Pickup Driver Ignores R.I.D.E Checkpoint

Wellington County OPP officers are on the lookout for a stolen pickup truck that failed to stop at a R.I.D.E checkpoint.

At about 1:15am this morning, officers were conducting a R.I.D.E. program at Wellington R.d 7 and David St. in Centre Wellington Township.

A Ford pickup truck approached the spot check but didn't stop and failed to pull over when police attempted to stop it. An investigation revealed the pickup was reported stolen in the Waterloo region.

There were two unknown occupants -- a male driver with a passenger.

The stolen vehicle is described as a 2013 red Ford F-150 pickup truck with licence plate AE13679.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
