Stroke patients who show up the at the hospital emergency room in Owen Sound will now have an expert neurologist on hand at all times.
Grey Bruce Health Services Owen Sound has joined the provincial Telestroke program.
That means a consulting neurologist from another hospital will be available through a video link 24-7 to analyse head scans, and determine the best treatments.
Owen Sound is one of 25 Telestroke sites, and has redesigned the admitting process to decrease wait times for assessment and treatment.
