Aviva Funding Contest Finalist Include Midwestern Ontario Projects

Three proposed community projects in Midwestern Ontario have made it into the final round of the Aviva Insurance Community Fund contest.
The successful applicants include a new animal shelter in Stratford, a new bunk house at the Goderich Lions Club Camp Klahanie , and a new playground at Holy Family School in Hanover.
Those three projects would each like to win up to $100,000 to see their dreams become reality.
Each of the 40  finalists receives a minimum of $5,000. just for making it this far.
The judges will now determine the grand prize winners, to be announced January 27th.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
