Minto Council Applauds New Warden

Minto Mayor George Bridge got a warm round of applause from council Tuesday in recognition of him becoming Wellington County warden.

The last time a warden came from the north end of the county was in 1995 with Minto Township Reeve Jim Connell.

Bridge is following in his father, Milton Bridge’s, footsteps. His father was Wellington Warden in 1986.

Bridge says he will give a high priority to economic development.

"I really need a lot of support from my council, and I asked them tonight," he says. "My council's had to step up to the plate, and I think they will. They've told me that in the past, so I'm looking forward to them helping me with this in the next two years."
